The ravine and Walhalla Rd. in Clintonville have been the inspiration for many of my paintings of late. I think the reason that I'm most interested in it is that it is smack dab in the middle of Columbus, but it feels like you might be in the hills of Kentucky. It's a great taste of nature w/out even having to drive anywhere.
This was painted from a photo taken looking up at a tree top along Walhalla Rd. I painted this entirely w/ a palette knife because I like the texture and wanted to keep the painting loose and natural.

Nice work, Aubrey. I just met a painter who has actually painted in the "south of France" and he says there are an abundance of beautiful scenes right here in Ohio, so save the plane fare.
I like your other Walhalla painting, too.
